------------
Faen generally comes off as the strong and silent type from a distance, but when approached either comes off as very open or very shy (women tend to make her nervous at first).
She frequents any major city where she is either on patrol or opening her ears to news of some new great hunt or mark.
Her interests include star-gazing, tea reading, tarot cards, training, drinking, and urban legends. She also likes the challenge of a hunt and the occasional duel to test her strength.

RP Hooks:
Banished Champion of the Tribe:
Faen Kagon was born and raised among the Xaela tribes in Othard's Azim Steppes. She belonged to sub-tribe (The Kleristall) run by a fanatical leader that was formerly cut off from the Kagon. Because of this, there are gaps in her memory of what she knows of the Steppes and Xaela culture, because the leader of the tribe isolated them, going as far as to even create his own language for his people.
An augmentation via dark crystals (passed off as an ancient legend) marked her as the tribe's champion based on the color of her eyes (red limbal rings with a pink iris) as it spoke of a great power laying dormant within her.
Her power did not awaken the day her people went to the Naadam, and she lost to another tribe's male where she was given the choice: Become his breeder or be banished from the Steppes.
She chose banishment. It was in that moment she found herself on a ship headed towards Eorzea, where she took the name from a book of the dead (now calling herself Idher Malaguld) and upon arriving in Limsa, her new life would begin. She would later return to the Steppes (after the events of ShB) to find herself a new tribe, wanting to remember what it means to be Xaela. It was then that she went on a pilgrimage among the various tribes to find her place. Eventually she found the Malagulds where she met the parents of the person whom she stole her name from. Not only did they accept her apology for using their lost-daughter's name, she was welcomed into the tribe and adopted by the former Idher's family. It was at this time she went back to her birth name of "Faen" and officially took the tribe name: Malaguld.**RP Prompt: It is highly unlikely there would be anyone that would recognize her from her childhood in the Steppes unless they too were at the great battle that lead to her banishment. She holds no fondness for her previous life or her previous tribe, and anyone from that time she would treat warily. But, one could recognize her from the massive pilgrimage she took to the Steppes, and anyone in the Malaguld tribe might recognize her as well.**
A short time in Limsa:
For a tribal nomad, quality of life in Eorzea came with its own struggles. Faen found herself first in the city-state of Limsa Lominsa as her ship finally docked, and she learned the hard lesson about currency and what it meant to truly be a "citizen" of any place.
She got her start making Gil by working at a small tavern and cleaning to pay off a tremendous tab she had built her first night after reaching port. As a foreigner, she also brought tricks of her tribe to earn money from passing adventurers. This was where her tea reading and tarot cards came in handy when tips were poor. She worked closely with the bartender that helped her learn more of the common language, and introduced her to books to further her learning. She does not mention her time in Limsa very often. She is more embarrassed by how fragile and ignorant she was during that time. Though she will occasionally make note of it, especially when she is speaking of how bad she is when it comes to managing her money. She was living in Limsa when the Calamity struck and remembers it quite well. She was still young at this time and says that it was not even a week after that moment that she would move to Gridania and join the Lancer's Guild.RP Prompt: Since she did spend a few years in Limsa, there is the possibility she caught the attention of wandering adventurers or the bar's regulars. During this time she would have been very stand-offish and silent. She also offered tea readings and fortunes for curious customers. She would have still looked like a tribal nomad during this time. She was also in Limsa when the Calamity hit. So perhaps, someone might have recognized her from this time.
The Wolf of Gridania:
After Faen's tab had long since been paid and her studying the common language had proved fruitful, the kind bartender found a young Faen practicing her fighting arts in the wine cellars below. The way she wielded a broom handle like it were a spear, and her graceful movements, made the man give her a push in what he said would be a better direction for her. He convinced her that a strong arm like hers was needed now more than ever in the aftermath of the Calamity.
He had called in a favor of an old friend, and said that Faen would find a new sense of purpose if she made her way to Gridania. There she was to join the Lancer's Guild. Once in Gridania, she was regarded very harshly by the inhabitants. She reeked of something wild and something foreign. Something unfriendly, despite her scholarly tongue. Even the Lancer's Guild opened their doors with caution and passed Faen's training off to one Greer Hollow (who had her own debt to settle). It was during this time that Faen slept out in the wilds, finding shelter in the hollowed tree trunks laying around the various corners of The Shroud. She trained alongside a viera known as Polvo (who was her original rival), and she lent herself out as a sell-sword to make coin.
No longer the timid tea-reader of Limsa, her wild side came back out of her as she drove her spear into her first creature. Her heart beating with bloodlust, and a mighty roar escaping her. The spear became her life, it was her true calling as the bartender had predicted it would be. Faen was not the sort of animal to be caged, rather, she built a reputation in her new home...sometimes one of fear, other times one of respect. She became known among Lancers and Civilians alike as "The Wolf of Gridania."RP Prompt: Known as the "Wolf of Gridania", Faen has built a strange reputation around the City-state. The rumor varies on who you ask. Some refer to her as the mighty hunter (no mark is too tough for the Wolf of Gridania), others truly believe that she is a beast that walks around pretending to be human (ie; "You can hear her howling on the hillsides when the moon is full. Lock your doors if you hear her ravenous cries."), but to the rest she is merely the adventurer with the ears like a wolf. Feel free to make up your own interpretation of said-rumors. This prompt is more likely to happen because Faen lives near Gridania and thus patrols the area often and would be more well-known.
Scion +
(Only for close friends or interested parties) - As an adventurer under the tutelage of a Scion, Faen became invested in the fighting of the Primals where it was made clear that she was possessed of the power known as "The Echo". While it does give her a little bit of an edge in battle (and dodging attacks), it is not so refined a power to make her invincible. This gift normally manifests in visions, and usually only visions of the past.
Still, as someone with The Echo, it wasn't long before Faen was invited to join the rank of the Scions. She was put in a small group consisting of Miqote twin Monks (Althea & Raeus) and the Lalafell Alchemist (Kaline). As a Scion (and a very active one at that), she has seen her fair share of events. In ARR, Faen was one of many that fought alongside several warriors to take down the Ultima Weapon. In HW, she actually helped defend the city-proper as one of the Azure Dragoon. She helped hold the city while another Warrior(s) of Light defeated the dreaded Wyrm Nidhogg. In SB, Faen stayed behind in Ala Mhigo and didn't dare venture into Doma & Othard because of her sordid past. She was on the front when it came to storming the Palace and she did face off against Lord Zenos who is her sworn enemy. During ShB, her soul was cast from her body and forced to roam as a spirit where it followed her reflection on The First (an event she does not speak about except for with a few select people).**RP Prompt: Faen can be recognized as a Scion by other Scions or those that work closely with them. In my head-canon she is one of /many/ Warriors of Light. This does not make her invincible in any way, it just means she serves a purpose and has a lot of knowledge of in-game events because of it, including major battles. Also, even though she is a WoL, she tries to keep that fact hidden. If ever she is in a major battle, she makes sure she is covered head-to-toe in armor so that she can not be recognized. Anyone that fought in the Dragonsong War might recognize her as one of the Azure Dragoon that was jumping from the spires while protecting the city proper. Also, anyone else with The Echo could have a vision where they saw Faen and seek her out for whatever reason...just talk it over with me first so we can settle on something. **
Other Hooks:
>>>If there is a mighty beast that has made its name in any sort of infamy, Faen will be interested in tracking it down.>>>Faen does have a passion for Chocobo Racing and is the jockey of the bird known as "Quantum Princess", she has run into a few fans from time-to-time (though she is still a rookie in terms of racing). A racing rival or just a friend that races with her would also be fun as Faen loves to hang out at the Gold Saucer during times of respite.>>>Her wolf ears make her stand out, and she is used to being approached for them and being compared to a few others with similar traits. However used to this attention as she may be, it does become clear that she is uncomfortable with how unnatural she really is for a Xaela.>>>The leader from her former tribe had brothers in the Kagon tribe that sired many children, Faen would not be surprised if any of her distant relatives showed up in Eorzea, but you would have to convince her that you were once of the Kagon and related no less (DM for more details).>>>She is a Malaguld now and is always willing to help those of her tribe in whatever way she can.>>>For those sensitive to energy and aether, Faen gives off the same type of energy that a Primal might emit (particularly Primals highly aspected to fire).>>>Faen used to get pretty deep in her cups. She likes to numb her pains and worries, thus is always down for a glass or ten. All she needs is an invite.>>>Faen is poly and therefore has multiple partners. But that doesn't mean she isn't open to new experiences if they present themselves. (Okay with ERP, short-term RP, and even long-term RP)>>>Faen loves to garden and fish. Her favorite flower is the rose and she often peddles these roses in Ul'dah to an old woman that makes rose oil out of the stuff. She also will dry fish and sell that as well. While in Ul'dah she has also done Oracle card readings and tea readings and thus might be reached out to for her wares or services if you need an excuse to approach her.
Relationships:

Cleyodyne Valitz:
"The Maiden Fairest who captivates me and who I am reminded of every time I wish upon a shooting star. I will love her for the rest of my life..."
*Cleyo is Faen's wife (married February 5th) and the person she is most drawn to- their relationship has gotten strained a few times but somehow they always work through it and come out stronger than before. They have three children in the future: Maeya Valitz, Adira Malaguld, and Rosette Malaguld.*

Elaina Yakubi:
"Dangerous and dangerously smart. The type you wanna punch, but sometimes want to kiss."
*Elaina is one of Faen's wives who originally started out as a rival. They still have a very love/hate relationship where sometimes they can't stand each other and other times they are very tender together - They have two children together in the future: Lafiel Yakubi & Asyriel Malaguld.*
Name: | Race: | Relationship: | Description: |
---|---|---|---|
Anargul Dotharl | Xaela | Girlfriend | "What can you say of a Dotharl that none have said before? Fiery, bull-headed, dangerous, and excitable. When I am with her, my soul burns." |
Frimelda Balewall | Half-Roegadyn | Girlfriend | "An innocent hookup that ended up being a beneficial mentorship of sorts and loving relationship. She is proud and powerful. A true leader but she has a very big and soft heart. There is a very unique beauty about her. I hope she sees it some day." |
Maeya Valitz | Demon Raen | Child (daughter with Cleyo) | "My beautiful and ever-curious firstborn. Stubborn to a fault, and not one to like a lot of noise, she has taken to life among the tribes and I couldn't be more proud of her for the fierce warrior she has become." |
Adira & Rosette Malaguld | AwooRa Twins | Child (daughters with Cleyo) | When I said I wanted a family, I never expected twins! Happy and unbothered. They are all I could hope for them to be. I hardly ever see them apart from one another. |
Lafiel Yakubi | Biomechanical Xaela | Child (daughter with Elaina) | My second daughter. Strong-willed, determined, everything about her is what a hero should be. I am already so proud of her, but I worry for her above all else because of how she seems to hide herself away in Ishgard. |
??? | ??? | ??? | Only the future knows if this will come to be. |
Deja Balewall-Malaguld | Wolf-Roe | Child (daughter with Frimelda) | My fourth daughter? Oh wait...if you count the twins...she is the fifth? I'm losing count. DJ is the strong and silent type around me but, her Sisters say she is a lovable goof that enjoys a good brawl. I don't know why she is so closed off but I'm working hard to earn her favor. |
Asyriel Malaguld | Hyur-Xaela | Child (daughter with Elaina) | Syri is my youngest and the child I sired with Elaina. We didn't even think such a thing was possible but, here she is! Her powers are unlike anything I have ever seen before...and it seems like Syri can barely control them. She also has this obsession and fixation with being "more Xaela". I can relate as I have been there myself. If only I could show her just how amazing she already is and how well she already belongs... |
Anshul Illumina | Living Weapon | Friendly | "The weapon Elaina and Polvo forged for me that contained a soul. That soul melded to my own and Anshul was born. While I could just wield her as a weapon, I was happier in letting her take a more human form to explore the world for herself. She is more like a daughter now than anything. Constantly curious and battle-crazed, she fits right in with this dysfunctional family." |
Astris Rose | Elezen | Soul-bound | "My reflection in the First who gave her soul so that I might return back to the Source. Proud Crystarium Guard, strong and strong-headed, blunt, a realist. I owe her everything. She asked I return her soul to the lifestream and it has been said that soul was guided back to the First." |
Tani Bayaqud | Xaela | Neutral | "Makes up stupid nicknames and has even more stupid ideas. There's something oddly charming in that though. Cleyo's girlfriend." |
Yuyu | Miqote/Demon | Neutral | "A goldsmith that hides a lot behind an innocent smile. She likes to add fuel to Cleyo's fire when it comes to their crazy antics. Seems like a dangerous combination. Another Cleyo girlfriend." |
Greer Hollow | Awoo-Ra | Mentor | "May she ever walk in the light of the Crystal." |
Theosaute Valitz | Elezen | Boss/Captain | A Lord of Ishgard, though he doesn't like to be referred to as such, coffee addict, baking enthusiast, fellow warrior, and great friend. |
Vesalyt Polvo | Viera | Friend | My oldest friend. I know the Viera as a race can be strange, but Polvo takes the cake and knows how to push my buttons. |
Althea Mistral | Miqote | Comrade | Probably the best friend I have outside of Polvo and the first to welcome me into the Scions. We have been part of the same adventuring group ever since. Always bubbly, optimistic, and ready to lend an ear, I know she has my back. But I won't tell her that. |
Raeus Mistral | Miqote | Comrade | Althea's twin brother. If he tries asking me out one more damn time, I'm going to kill him! |
Kaline Kali | Lalafell | Comrade | Our own personal alchemist in our little adventuring group. She has healed many a wound and cured even worse. Very mothering but super brash. She has two fine Hyur boys that she raised. |
Sefia Yakubi | YoRHa | Neutral | Don't let her make tea. EVER! |
Alicia Bezaliel | Ascian | Neutral | She has saved many lives. I had the hardest time looking past her crimes...until recently. I hope she finds what she is looking for. |
Serafi Wolf | Miqote | Former Fling | While she may not know of the ways in which to mend a beast's broken heart, she can feed its hunger...too bad she only lets you have but a taste before she breaks you again" |
Nicolette | Fox Hybrid | Former Fling | A very silly fox that once lit a fire in me. Those were good times. |
